Abstract:The fast-solving polyacrylamide(PAM) was prepared by microemulsion polymerization, and the reason of fastsolving was also analysed. The properties of these three PAMs were studied,that were used to treat suspendings and COD of the waste water. The results showed that the dissolvability of labPAM was better than the other two products and the dissolution time was up to 5.5min.In addition,the suspending removal effect of labPAM was equal or better than that of France PAM,and obviously exceeded that of homegrown PAM,especially the suspending removal percentage was 98% in waste water of pudding plant.The lab-PAM could substitute the France PAM in treating steel waste water. It was not ideal to remove COD of effluent via adding these three PAMs products.
