In respond to an appeal from domestic industry, Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No.56 on April 22, 2004. Ministry of Commerce decided to start a trade barrier investigation on Japan’s control measures of imported laver.
Ministry of Commerce put up an investigation on whether the investigation measures conducted are trade barriers, and held consultation with relevant department of Japanese government. The relevant Japanese departments committed to take effective measures to resolve Chinese side’s attention.
In accordance with the result of investigation and consultation as well as Provision 22 of Temporary Regulations on Foreign Trade Barrier Investigation, Ministry of Commerce decided to suspend this investigation.
The relevant comments about the suspension of the investigation of the interested parties and the public shall be submitted to Ministry of Commerce in written forms in 30 days as from the date when the announcement is issued.
