China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association and China Chemical Industry News will co-organize “China International Technological Symposium on the Comprehensive Utilization of C5 Fraction of Naphtha Cracker & the Development of IR” in Beijing on January 25-26, 2007. China is planning to extend the scale of the ethylene production in the Period of the 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-2010). It is anticipated that in the year 2010 the production capacity of the ethylene plants in China will be over 14 million t/a and a number of production bases with the capacity of between 0.8 and 1 million t/a will be built.
The total volume of C5 fraction of naphtha cracker of the ethylene plants will be over 2 million ton by the year 2010. The current level of technology and utilization of C5 fraction and IR in China are comparatively low and backward. However, the development prospect is huge and promising.
