The conference will focus on the use of composites in E&P,
drawing on the experiences of decades of use of the materials in the
O&G industry and extending it to more challenging scenarios
particularly in deepwater conditions. The objective of the conference is
therefore to provide a platform for researchers and engineers from
academia, industry, research organisations and regulatory &
certification agencies to share experience and exchange ideas on the
potential, challenges and success stories of composites applications in
the O&G industry.
With this in mind, the "Composites Asia
Conference and Exhibition 2006 For E&P Applications" is organised
to facilitate the sharing of experience and lessons learnt from current
and past application of composites in the E&P industry whilst
reviewing impending applications and future requirements of the industry
together with associated challenges in fulfilling these needs . Special
attention will be given to specific composite technological areas that are
relevant to as well as those that possess the greatest potential for
adoption and achieving success in the Asian E&P scene.
The
scope of the Conference covers, but is not retsricted to, the following
areas of composites application and technology that are relevant to the
O&G industry :
· Repair and Rehabilitation of
Structures · Riser · Pipes, including Umbilicals, Flexible,
Spoolables and Smart · Synthetic Mooring Ropes · Mechanical
Properties, and Short and Long-Term Performance of Composites
( under exploration, production and associated
operation conditions ) | The author
should submit an abstract of no more than 400 words in MS WORD format and
should state clearly the objectives, subject matter and conclusions to be
presented in the full paper. The abstract should be accompanied by the
authors’ bio data(s) (<100 words) and photo(s).
All final papers
MUST be in written 'word format' so that later publication in HydroCarbon
Asia and RAMS Asia magazines is possible. 'Power
Point' submissions for publication will not be considered, but the
presenter should present his paper using Power Point that covers the main
points of the paper and various illustrations.
Abstracts of papers on any of the topics mentioned above are
being actively solicited although other
topics of equal interest will also be
considered. Papers of
mainly commercial content are not encouraged and final selection
will be on the basis of papers that expand the level of 'composite'
knowledge and return value to the
participants.
Companies who wish to share their
experience/knowledge in the development projects are invited to
provide an abstract of their paper for consideration by the
programme committee.
