EUCO-CC6
is organized by Working Party for Computational Chemistry WPCC in
cooperation with Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University,
Bratislava, Slovakia and supported by European Association for Chemical
and Molecular Sciences - EuCheMS.

2006. Abstracts should be e-mailed before deadlines in Word, PDF or Postscript
formats (top/bottom margins 2.5cm, left/right margins 3cm, justified
text, font Times New Roman, size 12.) You can download the Word

Proceedings of the conference will be published in
International Journal of Quantum Chemistry. Participants are
encouraged to bring the manuscripts of their contributions to
EUCO-CC6. |

General informationArrival day is September 3rd, 2006.
Registration at the conference site begins at 10 a.m. in Hotel Partizan.
The first lecture will take place on Sunday, 4 p.m. Last lecture is
scheduled on Thursday, 7th, before noon. We still work on the detailed
time-table, it will be displayed later.
The Conference will be
held in the conference halls of Hotel Partizan at Tale tourist resort. It
is placed in a beautiful region of Low Tatras mountain range where the
nature with its genuine beauty welcomes visitors at any time of the year.
The splendid tranquility of the resort and high quality services provided
by the hotel create a unique place for a scientific meeting. The Hotel
Partizan is equipped with a wide range of conference facilities and offers
comfortable lodging and boarding for more than 200 persons.
LanguageThe official language of the conference will be English.
Visa and PassportCitizens of EU countries, Switzerland and some
other European countries can enter Slovakia with a valid national ID card.
For citizens of the remaining countries a passport valid at least 6 month
after the entry to Slovakia is required. Please check with your travel
agent or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia (www.foreign.gov.sk)
whether you need entry visa for Slovakia or contact Academia Tours travel
agency (E-mail: service@academia.sk).
Letter of InvitationUpon request an official invitation letter
can be sent to you by the Organizing Committee of the EUCO-CC6.
ClimateSlovakia has a continental climate with quite hot summers
and cold winters. Average summer temperatures are over 20oC,
but can be as warm as the mid-30's. Winter temperatures usually hover
around 0oC, but can plummet to 15 degrees below zero. The
beginning of September is still considered as summer weather, with
temperature between 17oC and 25oC. In the Low Tatras
mountains the weather is somewhat colder, especially during nights.
Time Zone1 hour ahead of GMT, the summer time, which lasts from
March to October is 2 hrs ahead of GMT, as in all EU countries.
CurrencySlovak Crown (SKK) - Slovenska koruna = 100 halier. Notes
are in denominations of Sk 5000, 1000, 500, 100, 50 and 20. Coins are in
denominations of Sk 10, 5, 2, 1 and halier 50. Exchange rates are daily
published by banks (see Slovak
National Bank). Foreign currency (including travellers cheques) can be
exchanged at exchange offices, main hotels and banks, road border
crossings, as well as major travel agencies.
Credit Cardsmajor credit cards (American Express, Diners Club,
Visa and MasterCard/Eurocard) and debit cards (Maestro and Visa Electron)
may be used to withdraw cash from automatic dispensers (teller machines)
of major banks (Tatra Banka, CSOB, Ludova banka, Slovenska sporitelna,
...) and for payments in hotels, restaurants, shops and petrol stations.
Credit cards can also be used to obtain currency. Check with your credit
card company for details of merchant acceptability and other services
which may be available.
Shops Opening HoursMost shops are open on Mondays-Fridays from 9
a.m. to 6 p.m. Smaller shops may close for lunch break. Big storehouses
and shopping centers are open to 7 p.m. or to 9 p.m. The hyper-markets
TESCO (Banska Bystrica, Bratislava, Kosice, Nitra, Trnava) are open
non-stop.
GastronomyGastronomy shows the influence of a close contact with
the neighboring countries. European meals, home specialities and foreign
meals are widely available. In Bratislava the restaurants offer unlimited
choice of international cuisine, including kosher and halal food as well
as vegetarian food. Slovak restaurants and Slovak shepherd's huts present
all kinds of regional specialties i - from Slovak cooking in the north of
the country to Hungarian and fish meals in the Danubian region in the
southern part of the country.
TelephoneDirect international telephone calls can be made to many
countries in the world. IDD is available. Country code: 421, area code for
Bratislava is 2, area code for Tale is 48. Outgoing international code: 00
+ country code + area code + telephone/fax number. Home and foreign calls
are enabled by public telephones working on coins or cards. Telephone
calls on significant numbers (see lower) are free of charge. Emergency
centers offer permanent service including aid on car accidents and repair
on practical all types of vehicles.
Insurance and LiabilityThe Academia Tours and the Organizers of
Conference as well as hotels are not taking any responsibility whatsoever
for injury or damage involving persons and property during the Conference.
Participants are advised to arrange for their own personal, travel and
health insurance for the trip to Slovakia.
