【Introduction to Exhibition Background】
Petrochemical industry is an important pillar industry for Liaoning’s economic development, as well as the sector with scale and benefit in the province. also is a key sector of speeding up its growth in Liaoning. The first-batch 52 state loan projects approved by the state to revitalize old industrial bases in Northeast China include 11 petrochemical projects, amounting to 22% and its investment amount is 58.6% of the total. The second-batch 91 state loan projects include 20 petrochemical projects, amounting to 22% and its investment amount is 50.4% of the total. Along with implementation of 800,000 tons PTA retrofit project in Liaoyang Petrochemical, 200,000 tons ethylene retrofit in Fushun Petrochemical and 400,000 tons ethylene combination retrofit and other revitalization projects, they will boost integration level of refinery and chemical industry in Liaoning, and speed up development of midstream and downstream products, refined and coal chemical industry. Refinery capacity will reach 90 million tons, output capacity of ethylene to 3 million tons, radial tires to 20 million pieces, asphalt to 3.8 million tons, paraffin to 1.1 million tons and finished product oil to 48 million tons in 2010 in Liaoning.
Now Dalian has 400 petrochemical enterprises, with refinery capacity of 20 million tons and a petrochemical industry system has been formed, covering a full range of sectors including fertilizer, pharmaceutical, pesticide, dye, grease, rubber and refined chemical industry. Dalian is a strategic pivotal base of refinery, oil storage and distribution in China. In the second half of 2005, Dahua’s relocation and retrofit have been carried out from all aspects, with investment greater than RMB7 billion and new facilities will be put into operation in 2007. While, benzene dicarbonic acid project has total investment of RMB3.6 billion. A facility with annual output of 500,000 tons will be built in the 1st phase and expanded gradually to a production scale of annual output of 1.2 million tons. Combined aromatic hydrocarbon project has total investment of RMB3 billion and will change the current situation that China depends imports for 60% of aromatic hydrocarbon supply. Dalian Petrochemical’s 20million tons refinery retrofit project and West Pacific Petrochemical’s 10million tons refinery capacity expansion project are also underway.
To get together “upstream” and “downstream” institutions in petrochemical industry, share specialty technology and market, and communicate between buyers and suppliers, “The 5th China (Dalian) International Petrochemical Processing and Chemical Industry Exhibition” will provide a platform of communication, negotiation and cooperation for suppliers of petrochemical equipment, engineering designers, builders and project undertakers by the new pattern of “on-spot exhibition, out-spot interaction and business talk”, complemented by “forums and seminars” besides the on-spot exhibition.
