The evolution and the frowth of Indian chemical and related industries has been both reflected and catalyzed by CHEMTECH. CHEMTECH+ PHARMA WORLD EXPO 2007 is the 23rd in the CHEMTECH series of exhibitions,and is expected to witness record participation. CHEMTECH+PHARMA WORLD EXPO 2007,the International Exhibition and Conference encompassing the Chemicals,Pharmaceuticals,Energy& Environment sectors,will be held in Mumbai from February 6-10,2007. The event,supported by CHEMTECH Foundation, will display state-of-the-art technologies,equipment,accessories and services from national and international players in each sector. The concurrent international conferences will deliberate on issues of topical interest to practising professionals.
Industry Poised for High Growth
The Indian chemical industry,a major sector of the economy,has a market size of USD 30 billion,growing at 10% per year. It constitutes 6.7% of India’s GDP and about 1.9% of exports. By 2010,the industrygrowth is projected at USD 60 billion. Likewise,the Rs25,000 crore(USD 5 billion) pharma industry had about 14% growth in 2002,with exports of USD1.75 billion. The industry is a net exporter having 8% market share (in volume terms) of the USD340 billion global market. It is rapidly restructuring to the post-2005 product patent regime.

CHEMTECH events have a high level of international participation,upto 40% in many editions. CHEMTECH+PHARMA World Expo 2007 is expected to witness an improved percentage of overseas participation.
SCOPE OF PARTICIPATION:
The exhibition will be spread over 30,000 sq. meters and will represent a cross section of the Indian process engineering and equipment industry.Going by the past experiences,foreign participation is expected to be good. Promotion drives for attracting delegations from abroad,particularly from countries of strategic interest to Indian companies,have started.
